On September 1-2, 2026, the IAM Live: China IP Forum 2026, returned to the Peninsula Shanghai.
The two-day event was kicked off by Youngki Ha, Samsung SDI’s IP Group Vice President, with a keynote address, offering delegates a glimpse into the IP strategy of a world leading battery supplier, against the backdrop of white-hot competition in the broader energy industry.
The forum featured heavyweight in-house speakers from major industry players, poring over hot-button topics including “How global policy shifts are rewriting patent value creation”, “China’s new trade secrets playbook”, “Putting AI to work in patent portfolio management”, “The next licensing frontiers: AI, IoT and video streaming”, among others.
Zheng Feng, Partner at Wanhuida Intellectual Property, moderated the “Masterclass: Resolving IP disputes with ADR”. Feng and her fellow speakers dived into the strengths, costs, timelines and outcomes of mediation and arbitration, debating the pros and cons of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanism in settling patent disputes. Panelists include Donna Huang, Director, Arbitration and ADR, North Asia, ICC Arbitration, Django Ma, Global IP Director, Trina Solar, Rui Yan, Counsellor, WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Shanghai Service, Jason Wu, Vice President and General Manager of China, InterDigital, as well as Cheng Yu, Licensing Director, Xiaomi.

The event attracted over 250 delegates from operating companies, R&D and licensing giants, law firms and other service providers from various areas of the IP community in China and beyond.
